The Nevada Highway Patrol says it arrested a suspected wrong-way DUI driver on I-80 near mile marker 254 in Eureka County early Monday morning. 

NHP trooper say the driver, Bruce Shumaker was driving a Toyota Prius eastbound in the westbound lanes, just before 8 a.m.

Authorities say they stopped Shumaker for not driving within the roadway's designated lanes. 

Troopers say after he failed a sobriety test, he was booked into the Elko County Jail and charged with operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of a controlled substance, driving within marked lanes required and wrong-way driving. Â
