The Nevada Highway Patrol (NHP) has released information on a fatal crash that happened on Wednesday on US-95 near mile marker 5 in Humboldt County.

Officials said a preliminary investigation showed a black and silver Dodge Ram 1500 was going southbound on US-95. They said a white Kia Optima was going northbound on the same road, when the Dodge crossed over the center line. Officials said the left front of the Dodge struck the left front of the Kia, and the Dodge overturned, driving over the Kia.

Officials said the driver of the Dodge, a male juvenile from Winnemucca, was unrestrained and was ejected form the truck. They said the Dodge came to rest on its roof and a fire started, fully engulfing the truck, blocking both the northbound and southbound lanes. They said the Kia came to rest on its wheels off the east roadway edge.

NHP said the driver of the Kia, 37-year-old Zoraida Rios of Winnemucca, was declared dead on scene. They said the juvenile was taken to the hospital and alcohol was suspected as a contributing factor.

Officials said the investigation is still ongoing.
