The Carson City School District says it has met or exceeded the minimum number of minutes taught per day, and in turn, students will not be required to make up the one day lost due to a weather-related school cancellation.

The last day of school for CCSD students will remain Wednesday, June 5, 2019.

Carson High School graduation will also remain as scheduled Saturday, June 8, 2019, at 9 a.m. on the football field. Pioneer High School graduation will also remain as scheduled Tuesday, June 4, at 6 p.m. in the Bob Boldrick Theater at the community center. Eagle Valley Middle School’s 8th Grade Promotion will be Tuesday, June 4, at 1 p.m. in the gym, and Carson Middle Schools 8th Grade Promotion will be Wednesday, June 5, at 1 p.m. in the gym.

The Nevada Department of Education formally approved the missed day (Tuesday, Feb. 5) and, based upon the annual instructional time, counted it as a day in session for the calendar school year 2018-2019.

Even though students will not be required to make up the lost days of instruction, teachers and staff will return to school June 6 to fulfill their contracts and receive professional development.
