The stage is up, the lights are on and the seats are in place. With just a few final touches left and the Nugget Event Center will be complete in June.

"Everything's coming together, it's right on track, may even finish a day or two early but don't want to be too optimistic, we know we're going to be right on time for sure for the show on June 15th,” says Randy Kennedy, Director of Communications for the Nugget.

Despite construction coming to an end, the Nugget still has a few other housekeeping items to take care of before launch. Their next big step is to hire the staff that will help to run the shows at the outdoor amphitheater.

“Ticket takers, ushers, bartenders, bar-backs and security staff are probably the greatest needs,” says Kennedy.

In 2019 it's not just the amphitheater coming down to Victorian Square. For years now Silverwing Development has been bringing new retail and housing, including one that's going to look right over the new Nugget Event center.

The high rise apartment buildings that sit atop the C Street parking garage, will be built to accommodate the residents who don't want to hear the concerts from down below.

“We've enhanced the windows, all the walls have sound proof insulation and of course the lower levels of the Deco are all garages which helps because sound diffuses as it goes up,” says J. Carter Witt, President of Silverwing Development.

Other recently finished Silverwing projects sit behind the amphitheater so developers don't anticipate noise being as much of a concern.

Witt also says that people moving to Victorian Square are likely aware of the lifestyle change that comes along with living next door to an outdoor event center.

“You can go to dinner, you can grab a beer, have a glass of wine, go to a luxury theater, see a celebrity top line entertainer all within walking distance of your residence,” says Witt.
