NV Energy says more than 9,600 customers are without power across Churchill and Washoe Counties. 

As of the time of this writing, more than 2,500 customers are without power in Churchill County and more than 7,000 customers in Washoe County are without power.

NV Energy says a car crash caused the outage in Churchill County, while the Washoe County outage is being blamed on damaged equipment.
