The Horsetail Waterfalls Trail, flowing fast with the record Sierra snowpack melting away. Located just down from Echo Summit, south of Lake Tahoe along Highway 50, you'll find this moderate to hard hike up to the Horsetail Falls that flows out of Alvanche Lake and into the American River. The upper part of the hike is difficult and requires rock scrambling and good boots, but the views are worth it.
