For the first year, Pop Culture Con is in Reno. This year, among all the costumes and merchandise, attendees will get to see film and TV actors, and comic and TV guests.
This is their first year in Reno and they say they will see between 3,000 to 30,000 people.
Pop Culture Classroom is the non-profit running the event and they are using all the proceeds to fund education. All the money goes to teaching teachers how to use pop culture to help improve learning in the classrooms.
They also say the goal of the event is to make people feel included.
“You don’t have to be a nerd if you’ve read a book of seen a TV show for the past 50 years, we have what you like,” says Bruce MacIntosh, Director of Programming.
