President Trump will learn how ventilators are made during a visit to Michigan.
Trump's visit Thursday to a repurposed Ford Motor Co. plant near Detroit comes a day after he criticized top state leaders and threatened to withhold federal funding over the state's mail-in balloting effort.
Hovering over Trump's appearance is whether he will wear a face covering.
Trump so far has refused to wear a face mask in public.
Federal health officials encourage it to slow the spread of coronavirus, and Ford says it requires everyone in its factories to wear a mask.
The state attorney general says mask-wearing is also Michigan law.
