Reno Aces pitcher Evan Marshall suffered a fractured skull Tuesday night after he was struck on the head by a line drive on the right temple during a game in El Paso, Texas.
The right-handed pitcher underwent surgery to alleviate swelling and pressure, and remains in the hospital’s intensive care unit. Authorities say he is alert, engaging in conversation, and is able to walk.
An Arizona Diamondbacks representative says Marshall and his family thank Aces’ fans for their thoughts and prayers. They also thank the D-backs organization, the Reno Aces, the El Paso Chihuahuas, and hospital staff in El Paso.
