After City Council approval of Lakeridge rezoning, Reno Land Inc. plans to move forward with the construction of new homes and give the Lakeridge Tennis Club a face lift.

“We are working on upgrading, updating the club, making it into an amenity with a residential development but try to keep the characteristics of the club,” says Chip Bowlby, owner of Reno Land Inc.

The goal is to bring 300 units to the area and that could help increase revenue for the club.

“The property had a little struggle, a little bit of a financial struggle and I think that us coming in bringing and adding new element, a residential side you will see an upgrade to a property that is just iconic,” says Bowlby.

Reno Land Inc. plans to break ground in the summer of 2020.

Fred Zalokar, is the current General Manager for the club and has worked there for the past 35 years.  He says that even though the plan is to reduce the number of courts, the development will bring much needed enhancements to the club.

“Reno Land is bringing a vision and a future for us, and I don’t know about a lot of changes but I think enhancements is what we are looking for,” says Zalokar.
