This Saturday night, December 10, 2016 will be the 16th year for the Santa Pub Crawl in downtown Reno, and the Reno Police Department is again expecting record breaking crowds from previous years. Â The Reno Police Department, in conjunction with the City of Reno and the Silver Legacy, has teamed up once again to ensure all crawl participants have a fun and safe event.
Reno Police will have extra Officers out on the streets downtown to ensure everyone’s safety and want to remind the Santa Crawl participants of some of the laws and some basic safety tips if you are planning on coming downtown for the crawl.
        •      This event is for anyone who is at least 21 years of age and ID’s will be checked
        •      Participants wishing to drink alcohol can only do so in 2016 Santa Crawl cups
        •      No alcohol will be permitted outside any of the bars or casinos
        •      Do not leave your drinks unattended and have a friend watch out for your safety
        •      Start out with a fully charged cell phone
        •      Have a plan if you get separated from your friends
        •      Drive Sober! Drive Alert!  Let’s have Zero Fatalities in NevadaÂ
Â
Reno PD, along with the City of Reno's Community Safety and Services Team (CSAST), will also be enforcing queue lines outside of participating bars and nightclubs and dump buckets at the doorways for alcohol to ensure adequate security and safety for participants and citizens is met. Â
The mission of the RPD during this event and other events in Reno is to be a model of policing excellence while providing proactive police presence in order to prevent violence. RPD Officers will be addressing open containers and taking crowd-control measures in order to provide the highest level of public safety for our community.
