Reno Police Seek Witness in Sparks Officer-Involved Shooting Investigation |

The Reno Police Department needs your help finding a possible witness in connection with a Sparks officer-involved shooting at the Motel 6 on Victorian Avenue on May 4th.

Reno Police stress the woman in the photo is only being sought as a witness.

RPD Detectives would like to interview her regarding any information she may have on the events of that night.

Reno Police say Sparks officers learned that 36-year-old Ronal Zendejas tried to use a chainsaw to destroy a wooden door inside the motel.

When officers arrived on scene, they ordered Zendejas to stop from driving away but he hit a police car and collided into rock landscaping. The suspect tried to drive away again and that’s when authorities say two Sparks officers fired their weapons into the car, hitting and killing Zendejas.

No officers were hurt.
