The Reno Rodeo Association and the Reno Elks will hold a community gathering on Friday to honor Jerry and Sherri David, who were killed in the recent homicide cases in Washoe County this month.

The event will be on February 1 between 3 p.m. and 5 p.m. at the Reno Elks Lodge on Kumle Lane in Reno.

The gathering is open to the public and the family of the victims will hold a separate, private service at a another date.

Jerry David was a past "Exalted Ruler" of the Elks Lodge, 597 and past president of the Nevada White Hats riding group. He was also the 2006 Reno Rodeo president.

Jerry and Sherri joined the Reno Rodeo Association in 1991 and served on numerous committees, including the Special Kids Rodeo, specialty sales, grounds, chuckwagon, team penning, finance and more.
