A non-profit that helps children visiting Northern Nevada for hospital treatments celebrated the opening of a new kitchen on Thursday.
The Ronald McDonald House held a ribbon cutting for its renovated kitchen at the home located at 323 Maine Street. It's named in honor of Steve Brennan who helped bring more than $1 million in donations to the house since 2000.
Organizers say the upgrade will be a big help to the families they serve.
"When they're through with the hospital at the end of the day, they don't have to look around for a restaurant, they'll come back her and have dinner. We have dinners prepared by volunteers probably 90% of the nights. And that's invaluable,” says Marty Ozer, Executive Director, Ronald McDonald House.
Eight companies made donations to help the new kitchen become a reality.
