The Board of Regents has approved a 3% raise for all Nevada System of Higher Education Employees.

Angela Merkel has reportedly told leaders of her conservative party that this will be her final parliamentary term as Germany's chancellor.   

Helmut Kohl, the physically imposing German chancellor whose reunification of a nation divided by the Cold War put Germany at the heart of a united Europe, has died at 87.

The Board of Regents Friday unanimously approved the appointment of John V. White as the acting chancellor of the Nevada System of Higher Education, effective June 3. The appointment follows the retirement of Daniel J. Klaich who served as NSHE's chancellor since June 2009.
