Snow in the Sierra during the month of May isn't unheard of, but it’s usually fairly light. However, the NWS Reno issued a Winter Storm Warning this past weekend.
Snow totals ranged from a couple inches in downtown Reno to several feet of snow in the Sierra.
Not all types of snow is the same. Depending on the temperature and density of the snow, some winter storms can be better for our water supply than others.
After receiving a couple feet of snow in the mountains, more snow is on its way.
After a quick break Wednesday, another storm will move through the region early Thursday.

The flooding situation in southeast Texas is catastrophic all thanks to now Tropical Storm Harvey, and unfortunately another one to two feet is forecasted to fall in that area through Thursday.
