NAPLES, Fla. (AP) — Researchers studying invasive Burmese pythons in Florida came upon something they’d never seen before: an 11-foot-long python had consumed an entire deer that weighed more than the snake itself. 

A 13-year-old Carson City boy is in the hospital after being bit by a rattlesnake Saturday afternoon.  According to CarsonNow.org, Terri Zittel said her son, Troy Winkler, was hiking with her father in the Prison Hill area around 3:30 p.m. Winkler noticed the snake and picked it up to show his father. 

Nevada is home to many types of snakes, including rattlesnakes. As the weather has warmed up, more people have reported seeing the slithery creatures.
