A new workforce program is helping restore trees and rebuild lives along the Truckee River in Reno. 

The Dragon Lights Festival is coming back to the Wilber D. May Arboretum and Botanical Gardens at Rancho San Rafael Park.

Arbor Day, the annual holiday that focuses on the importance of planting and preservation of trees, is being celebrated at two different events this weekend.

The City of Reno is providing discounted trees to residents through ReLEAF Reno, in collaboration with the Arbor Day Foundation.

The money raised takes care of the grounds at the arboretum, the most plant diverse area in Northern Nevada.
