The City of Sparks is hosting a blood drive next week in partnership with Vitalant.

Nearly 300 units of blood were donated at 2 News Nevada's 17th annual Give 2 Live Blood Drive at the Atlantis, but the impact of the blood drive reached beyond the resort's Grand Ballroom.
Extreme heat shuttered several of Vitalant’s blood drives last week, and the nonprofit is hoping the community can help them make up for the setback.
The blood drive will be held at the former Washoe County Shooting Range located at 21555 Pyramid Way on Saturday, June 15 from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m.
The Reno Aces will be hosting a blood drive on Tuesday, April 16.
This week Virginia City will host a "Battle of the Badges" blood drive.
Vitalant is needing 350 donations in 2 days to help them begin January by replenishing the shelves post the Holiday season.
If you're in good health and meet the general eligibility criteria, then you are likely able to give blood.
