The City of Sparks partnered with Vitalant to host the Battle of the Badges, in their Ninth Annual Blood Drive on Thursday, August 22.

The drive will take place at Sparks City Hall located at 431 Prater Way from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the downstairs training room and the bloodmobile outside.

In last year's competition between the two agencies, Sparks Fire Department won by just a few donations.

The City of Sparks is asking for its employees and community members to donate and vote for their favorite agency.

The City says that Vitalant needs blood donations and every donation helps to ensure that adequate blood supplies are available when patients need them.

They ask that the community consider donating life-saving blood during this combined and spirited competition, each donation can save up to three people's lives.

Walk-ins are welcome, but to schedule an appointment to donate blood click here.
