More than a hundred republicans packed into the restaurant to watch President Trump deliver the state of the union address, and most of them we spoke to were enthralled by what they call a speech from the heart. 

We are at the halfway point between last year's bombshell election and next year's midterms, and Washoe County's political parties are making some changes. The new chairpersons for both major parties say they have taken the last year and done a little soul-searching.

The Republican Party is going through some major shifts in power. The latest came this weekend in Las Vegas as the GOP County Convention was winding down.

Washoe County Republican Party Chairman Adam Kahn and three other top officers say they have resigned at least in part because of internal divisions within the county party.

The Washoe County Democratic Party is training to be experts by February on the delegate selection process for the Nevada caucus. 

The Republican Party in Washoe County is making some changes. They have elected a new chairman with new ideas and they are focused not only on the long term goal of the 2016 election, but have an immediate goal of adding new members.

Local political groups gave reactions to the President Obama's immigration plan. Supporters talked about their excitement when the President made his announcement, while others were left hanging and thought more should have been explained.
