The Sparks Police Department (SPD) says on Thursday September 19, 2019 at approximately 10 a.m., an unknown male approached the cashier at the Family Dollar located at 2225 Oddie Boulevard, displayed an unknown type handgun, and demanded cash from the register.

They say the cashier provided the suspect an undisclosed amount of cash.

SPD says the male was described as an unshaven white male, possibly in his late 40's or early 50's, with blonde hair.

They say he was described as wearing a dark baseball style hat, dark sunglasses with a dark colored sweatshirt and dark pants.

SPD says two surveillance photographs of the suspect are attached.
