Jenkins named Mountain West Player of the Week

[NEVADA ATHLETICS RELEASE]

RENO, Nev. – Nevada Softball senior Aaliyah Jenkins was named the Mountain West Player of the Week following the Wolf Pack's series win over Boise State.

Jenkins tallied seven hits in 12 at-bats in Boise. She recorded multiple hits in all three games of the series and reached base three times in two of the games. Slashing .583/.615/1.083, she led the team in both batting average and slugging percentage and was second in on-base percentage, among qualified hitters.

The Tracy, Calif. native sent two balls over the Dona Larsen Park fence, bringing her season total to seven. Jenkins drove in six runs and scored four runs herself, including one in the Pack's 13-run inning during Sunday's 17-3 victory over the Broncos.

Jenkins got on base once via a hit-by-pitch and stole three bases. She also recorded eight putouts while playing in right field and catching.

Despite her 2022 Mountain West Freshman of the Year award and being a three-time All-Mountain West honoree, this is Jenkins's first career weekly honor given out by the conference.

Jenkins will lead her Pack at Christina M. Hixson Softball Park for the first time this season tomorrow, March 25 at 3 p.m. against Idaho State.
