In Dublin, thousands of people turned out in protest. Trump met with Irish Prime Minister Micheál Martin in Dublin. He expressed support for unifying the Republic of Ireland with Northern Ireland. It's a sensitive topic due to historical tensions and violence. Previous U.S. presidents have avoided direct comments on the issue. Trump also met Irish President Catherine Connolly. Trump’s son Eric says the Trump family is loved in Ireland.
