Street Vibrations Now Underway

If you haven't heard the rumbling around town yet - you will soon - Street Vibrations officially started today!

Organizers expect about 50,000 people to make their way through this event over the next five days.

"Having five city blocks just full of vendors and motorcycle enthusiast type people who are selling leather and shirts and parts and bikes to look at, it's packed with stuff to do. Something for everyone,” says Danielle Squire, company manager, Roadshows Inc.

Even just a few minutes after the event officially opened Wednesday afternoon, motorcycle fans were already strolling through the vendor booths downtown.

Over the next five days bikers will cruise in for the shopping, the shows, poker runs - and scenic rides put on by the event.

And that's a nice economic boost for our area. Event organizers estimate that Street Vibrations funnels about $96 million back into our local economy.

"For most of these people, this is their vacation that they've been planning on all year. So they're here to stay in our rooms, they're here to drink, they're here to gamble, they're here to eat.

The event runs through Sunday.
