The Reno Police Department says a man was arrested in connection to a shooting that happened on June 10 near Neil Road and South McCarran Boulevard.

Officials said on Wednesday, officers responded to the area around 6:45 p.m. and found a victim who had been shot twice.

They said the victim was taken to the hospital and treated for non-life threatening injuries.

Officials said officers from the Regional Gang Unit began investigating the crime.

They said officers learned the victim and defendant allegedly agreed to a fist fight and the victim arrived on scene as the suspect did.

Officials said the suspect armed himself and fired numerous rounds into the victim's car and struck the victim, but did not injure the other three occupants in the car.

They said the suspect and victim fled in separate directions.

On June 12, officials said the Regional Gang Unit identified the suspect in this case and arrested him on a probation violation.

They said 23-year-old Juan Montalvo was charged with attempted murder, three counts of assault with a deadly weapon and child endangerment.
