Tesla Motors CEO Elon Musk says there is no slowdown in the construction of the Gigafactory north of Reno, despite recent reports there was a slowdown.
On Sunday, he tweeted: “There is no slowdown of the Gigafactory construction underway, as anyone near Reno with eyes can verify. It's not subtle.”
His response comes after the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers posted the so-called delay in an online post. The Reno Gazette-Journal then reported the delay is because of a change in design plans for the lithium battery factory.
In September, Musk announced that Nevada would be home for the factory.
Tesla says the Gigafactory is expected to start production in 2017 and should be fully up and running by 2020.
