Carson Music Festival
The annual Carson City celebration of Jazz is put on by the Mile High Jazz Association and it runs through the month of August. But it starts this weekend. Most performances are free. Check their website for specifics.
Lake Tahoe Summer Fest
This event is put on by the Sierra Nevada College in Incline Village and it hosts some incredible classical music in an awesome setting!
Concourse D’Elegance
If you like wooden boats you won’t want to miss the Concourse D’Elegance! It’s at Homewood and it features more than 60 lakers and launchers. The antique wooden boats are beautiful to see. And this show is one of the most highly regarded judged shows in the country.

They are living legends and they will be playing during Hot August Nights at the Grand Sierra Resort in Reno.
Journey to Space (at the National Automobile Museum)
And space enthusiasts….have I got an event for you! It’s a documentary for IMAX screens called Journey to Space. It’s an incredible visual event about travel and it’s narrated by Patrick Stewart! They will screen it at the National Automobile Museum Saturday evening starting at 7:30.
Rockets and Rovers to Cars on Mars
A tour of this new exhibit at the National Automobile Museum will be a part of the Journey to Space Film Screening Saturday night. It’s amazing what has been…and what is coming in the mode of transportation. Saturday night it will be closed to the public. But the public is welcome Saturday, Sunday and any other day of the week.
