Nevada Implements Bighorn Ewe Hunts to Manage Growing Populations

The Nevada Department of Wildlife says three people have been sentenced for elk poaching in the northeast part of the state.

Steven Bennett of West Valley, Utah pleaded no contest to unlawful possession of wildlife and was fined $355.

Amy Summers of Tremonton, Utah was also fined and the rifle she used to kill a bull elk was also confiscated.

Susanne Bedke of Oakley, Idaho who owned the ranch pleaded guilty to holding a game warden behind closed gates as he tried to investigate one of the killings.

NDOW says the case stemmed from an October 2015 discovery of the 6x6 bull elk at the K-Savy Ranch.

Sportsmen and the public who witness wildlife crime are urged to contact the Operation Game Thief hotline at 800-992-3030.
