The Sparks Police Department needs your help identifying a motorcycle rider who fled from a traffic stop on Wednesday evening.

On Wednesday at around 5:10 p.m., a Sparks Police officer tried to stop a motorcycle near the intersection of Springland Drive and Sparks Boulevard, according to a release from the SPD.

When the officer turned on their lights, the motorcycle rider immediately fled northbound on Sparks Boulevard at high speed.

Officers did not chase the motorcycle due to concerns for the safety of the public and the rider.

The rider was last seen heading north on Sparks Boulevard. SPD says they have multiple tattoos on their left arm and were seen wearing a black vest with a lime green shirt underneath.

The motorcycle is believed to be a white Harley Davidson.

Anyone with information on the identity of the rider or the motorcycle involved is urged to contact the Sparks Police Department at (775) 353-2231 or Secret Witness at (775) 322-4900. A $500 reward is being offered.Â
