Reno Police says four juveniles were detained Saturday morning, after three armed robberies near the University of Nevada, Reno.
The first report of a robbery came in around midnight, Friday into Saturday morning. There were a total of three separate robberies. All victims described the suspects and suspects' vehicle.Â
Around 3 a.m., officers located the vehicle they believed to be related to the suspects involved in the armed robberies. They soon found that it was a stolen vehicle, and tried to pull the vehicle over. The vehicle fled, and officers then began their pursuit in the area of Idlewild Park.
Officers decided to conduct the Pursuit Intervention Technique at Liberty Street and Holcomb Avenue, which resulted in one officer's car catching fire. Reno Police say no officers were injured.
The pursuit continued to Mill Street and Rock Boulevard, where the suspect(s) then drove over center median, causing deflation in three tires. The vehicle stopped and all four people in the car were detained. One juvenile was arrested for Possession of a Stolen Vehicle, Eluding, and Hit and Run. All of the juveniles were treated and released from the hospital with minor injuries from the crash.
Officers also recovered property from the three armed robberies.
Reno detectives are taking over the investigation.
