Following his guilty plea to Lewdness with a Child Under the Age of 14, a Sparks man was sentenced to life in prison.Â
After ten years, 65-year-old Pharrell Shelton will be eligible for parole.
Detectives from the Regional Human Exploitation and Trafficking (HEAT) Unit were tipped off that Shelton was interacting with minors on social media in September of last year.
A seven-year-old girl who knows Shelton told HEAT during their investigation that he had often urged her to touch his genitalia.
Shelton's devices were searched, and pictures of child sexual abuse material (CSAM), including those of the seven-year-old, were found.
In this case, the State was represented by Deputy District Attorney Darcy Cameron. The sentence was administered under the direction of the Honorable Tammy Riggs.
