A man was arrested in Mineral County after deputies made a traffic stop and discovered eight pounds of fentanyl pills in his car.

Around 4:30 a.m. on Tuesday, August 13, Mineral County Sheriff's Deputies conducted a traffic stop on a Gold Toyota Camry on US95 at mile marker 52, located within Mineral County.

According to deputies, during the traffic stop the driver identified as an immigrant from Mexico using the name of Andy Garcia Ayala, of Phoenix, Arizona became suspicious of his travel.

Deputies say due to the suspicious behavior Police K9 Nora was requested and she made a positive alert on the Camry.

Deputies then searched the Camry and found eight pounds of fentanyl pills wrapped in two plastic packages with an approximate street value of $750,000.

The driver was arrested and booked into the Mineral County Detention Center and faces charges of Trafficking Fentanyl and Providing False identification.
