The Nevada Department of Transportation says lanes will shift slightly on eastbound Interstate 80 between McCarran Boulevard and Keystone Avenue in west Reno beginning Sunday, June 14.
The work is part of an effort to repave and widen the interstate.
NDOT has released some things to keep in mind if you drive in that area:
Eastbound interstate lanes will slightly shift to newly paved inside lanes between Stoker Avenue and west McCarran.
Motorists should drive attentively for the lane shifts.
Be aware of trucks entering and exiting the work area.
NDOT says they’ve reached a milestone in the project, with 17,000 tons of asphalt placed to complete the base layer of paving.
The following, existing traffic controls will remain in place thorough this summer:
At least two interstate lanes will remain open in each direction during daytime hours.
Interstate lanes will additionally be reduced to a minimum of one lane between 10 p.m. - 5 a.m. weekdays.
Speeds are reduced to 55mph through the work zone.
Interstate drivers can anticipate moderate travel delays through the work zone.
Intermittent overnight ramp closures of the west McCarran Boulevard and Keystone Avenue ramps to I-80 take place Sunday evenings through Friday mornings.
Motorists should also anticipate intermittent overnight lane reductions on McCarran Boulevard and Keystone Avenue near I-80 between 8 p.m.- 6 a.m. nightly.
Additional traffic control such as lane reductions may take place on McCarran Boulevard, Keystone Avenue and Stoker Avenue near I-80.
