TMCC announces retirement of its president

Truckee Meadows Community College announced that its president is retiring, according to a statement posted on Facebook.

“After nearly a decade of visionary leadership, Dr. Karin Hilgersom is retiring as President of Truckee Meadows Community College. Her commitment to innovation, inclusivity, and student success has transformed TMCC into a vibrant, forward-thinking community.”

The college said that during her time as president, the institution expanded programs, became a Hispanic-Serving Institution, promoted sustainability, and fostered a culture supportive of new ideas.

“We’re grateful for her inspiring legacy and excited to welcome Dr. Jeffrey Alexander as the next president to continue this momentum. Thank you, Dr. Hilgersom, for everything you’ve done to make TMCC stronger and more welcoming for all.”
