The National Nurses Organizing Committee announced Thursday that registered nurses at Saint Mary's Regional Medical Center have ratified a new three-year contract.
Thursday's agreement comes after a recent bargaining campaign that included a strike pledge.
The contract includes a minimum 4% pay increase for each year of the contract.
It also expands nondiscrimination protections too -- and protects a minimum ratio of nurses to patients.
NNOC says it represents nearly 600 nurses at Saint Mary’s Regional Medical Center in Reno.
Saint Mary's Regional Medical Center released this statement to us:
“Saint Mary’s Regional Medical Center is pleased to have reached an agreement with the National Nurses United Union. We greatly appreciate and value the hard work and contributions of our nurses. We are glad to move forward together to ensure Saint Mary’s Regional Medical Center remains the best place in our region for quality and compassionate patient care and a great place to work.”
