With chain controls active along Kingsbury Grade and through the Daggett Pass, some area business owners talked about what it is like to own their own business in these conditions.

"It can be kind of tricky, but for the locals, a lot of people don't mind getting out of our snow plow," said Sandra Ney, owner of Will and Ivey Boutique. "At times it's hard. We have people that want to hunker down in front of their fires, so it just, it just depends. I'm just proud of being here."

Ney's store is located along Kingsbury Grade. She discussed how she and her husband prepare their boutique for this stormy time of year.

"We definitely keep it warm, and then they do a great job with this complex, keeping the driveway clear for all those who are coming into park," she said. "My husband does a great job shoveling the snow off of the stairs, and we do the salt and all the things to prepare for those coming in."

She says she loves operating a business in the area, and the weather won't even come close to stopping her from doing what she loves. Sandra also gave some helpful tips for how she prepares her home for this time of year.

"We always try and make sure all the things are clean, and clear the chimney. We love burning wood fires," she said. "We just make sure that all the doors are sealed and windows are good. So that's how we stay warm."

And as a resident of the Kingsbury area, she gave some very helpful tips for any drivers that might want to come check out the Will and Ivey Boutique.

"Driving in this weather, it is really important to go slow and be sure that you have the exact tires that you need," she said. "Of course, if you don't have a four-wheel or all-wheel drive, you've got to have chains. Don't try and come here if you don't have chains."

With the snow season just getting started, perhaps a little early, it is the perfect time to come check out the Ney's boutique and shop for some winter attire.Â
