City of Reno

City of Reno administrative offices will be closed on Thursday, January 1, 2026, for New Year’s Day.

  • All City of Reno recreation facilities and pools will be closed on both holidays

  • Parks and Recreation information is available on the City of Reno website

Reno Police Department

  • For emergencies requiring police, fire, or medical response: Call 911

  • For non-emergency dispatch assistance: 775-334-COPS (2677)

  • Online reports can be submitted at RenoPD.com under “File a Report.”

City of Sparks

The following Sparks offices will be closed on January 1 for the new year.

  • Sparks City Hall
  • Sparks Parks & Recreation
  • Alf Sorensen Community Center
  • Larry D. Johnson Community Center
  • Sparks Municipal Court
  • Sparks Police Department front office

Normal office hours will resume on Friday, January 2.

Washoe County

Most Washoe County offices will be closed on Thursday, January 1, 2026, for New Year’s Day.

Closed County Offices Include:

  • Administrative offices at the Washoe County Complex, 1001 E. Ninth St., Reno

  • All Washoe County Library locations

    • Book drops and online services will remain available

  • Northern Nevada Public Health

    • Clinical, environmental health, WIC, and birth & death record services

  • Reno, Sparks, Incline Village, and Wadsworth Justice Courts

  • Second Judicial District Court

  • Washoe County District Attorney’s Office

  • Washoe County Human Services Agency and all meal distribution locations

  • Truckee Meadows Fire & Rescue headquarters, fire prevention, and administrative offices

  • Washoe County Sheriff’s Office administrative offices

Washoe County Sheriff’s Office

  • Visiting and cashier services will remain open

  • Emergency assistance: Call 911

  • Non-emergency line: 775-785-WCSO (9276)

Regional Animal Services

  • Shelter operations and the office will be closed

  • Field operations will continue as normal

  • Pet redemptions will be available 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Friday

Office of the County Clerk

  • Open 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Washoe County Complex

  • Marriage licenses and business filings are available

  • Passport services will not be available

Truckee Meadows Fire Protection District

Truckee Meadows Fire Protection District Administrative and Fire Prevention Offices at 3663 Barron Way will be closed:

  • Thursday, January 1, 2026
