City of Reno Mayor Hilary Schieve has issued a mandatory curfew for tonight, May 30, effective immediately.

Residents are being asked to stay indoors and obey the curfew for the safety of all community members.

The city of Reno says a heavy police presence will be in downtown Reno overnight.

The mandatory curfew was issued after protesters broke windows at Reno City Hall and started a fire inside.

Other protesters could be seen trying to put out the fire.

Reno police used tear gas multiple times throughout the night, in an attempt to disperse the crowds.

Multiple freeway exits near downtown Reno have been closed as officials work to clear the area.

At this time the number of arrests as well as possible injuries are not known.
