The Washoe County Registrar of Voters updated voting numbers Saturday morning, November 7.
They did report the highest number of mail-in ballots ever seen for Nevada.
The registrar is also releasing a final number of in-person voter turnout from Election Day, November 3.
• 21,512 overall in-person Election Day voter turnout
• 5,197 Democratic
• 7,454 Nonpartisan
• 8,861 Republican
A tabulation update was expected earlier on November 4th, however the Registrar of Voters reported that staff was able to count all of the in-person votes and ballots that were received and processed by Election Day. The registrar’s office estimates about 9,000 mail-in and dropbox ballots were received on Election Day, and staff is working throughout the day to process and tally those ballots.
“We know that everyone wants results as quickly as possible, but it’s more important to be meticulous in verifying ballots and running a clean tabulation,” Deanna Spikula, registrar of voters, said. “We will update our results dashboard as regularly as possible and coordinate with the Secretary of State’s office to ensure clarity and transparency.”
Additionally, 429 provisional ballots and 4,744 ballots cast with same-day registrations will be counted after all mail-in ballots are counted, allowing the registrar to conclude all counting by the November 13 deadline.
The final Canvass of the Vote will be November 16, and only at that time should results be considered final.
As of 11 p.m. on November 3, General Election Day, the Washoe County Registrar of Voters Office counted 224,195 votes.
