Sanitation has been a big tool to fight COVID-19. Monday, Downtown Reno Partnership's ambassadors made sure to put it to use.

They are not only cleaning parts of downtown, but also educating the population.

"There really aren't a lot of people out on the streets that educate our vulnerable community, that communicate with them to make sure they understand what they need to do in order to keep the virus from spreading," says Alexander Stettinsky, with Downtown Reno Partnership.

They clean benches, handles, buttons, door knobs on a regular basis by 20 ambassadors. A lot of people may be home, but many buses are still running for those who need it. Their other programs also had to shift their focus to adapt to the outbreak.

"Our marketing and economic development activities are a lot more focused on informing the community, our property owners, our small businesses, larger businesses and stake holders at large," says Stettinsky.

They are also patrolling the downtown area at night, to make sure there is no vandalism.
