Incline High School welcomed fans, families and students into their stadium for the first time this season.

With a brand-new head coach and a so far undefeated record, they battled it out in their first home game of the year against Silver Stage High School.

Being at the Incline High School football field, one could feel the energy, backed by the community, the band and everyone involved cheering on their teams.

We spoke with Tierney Cahill, the principal of Incline about how special this time of year is.

"It's the most exciting time," she said. "This is such a, community-based school. We have grandmas and grandpas and alumni, and it's just so exciting to see everybody come back."

With the energy the community provides, Cahill tells us that small town sports are very special. She mentions that football and Friday night lights aren't just for the team but for everyone getting involved, and finding a way for everyone to get involved.

"I think it's just finding a way for everybody to participate. It's not just a football team. I mean, we've got cheerleaders," she said. "You can hear the band warming up right now!"

As the band and cheerleaders cheered on their fellow classmates, Incline defended its 2-0 start to the season by defeating Silver Stage 55-12. Their defensive line coach, Thomas Jones spoke on how this season might look under a brand-new head coach.

"I think the kids are really ready right now," he said. "Coach Shaw has done a great job with these kids and a great administration of the philosophy in the process. So, these kids have all bought in now. And I think it's going to be a good season going forward."
