Truckee Duckee Derbee Makes Its Return

This year, the Truckee Duckee Derbee returned to the River Ranch Lodge in Tahoe City after the rubber duck races were cancelled last year due to high water conditions.

This event is a fundraiser for Humane Society of Truckee Tahoe. The afternoon festivities included live music, a BBQ, drink specials, a raffle, K-9 costume contest and the "Cool Catz in Hatz" contest.

Local canine, Leana, was honored as the TDD's "Pet of Honor." She was found abandoned on Donner Summit and emaciated and with a bullet fragment in her head. Through the efforts of the HSTT, Leana was rescued, rehabilitated and adopted. She now serves as a therapy dog.
