Our CBS affiliate in Sacramento, KOVR, reports Truckee is being considered a 'hotspot' for COVID-19.
They reported a Nevada County Supervisor is asking owners of second homes in the area to stay at their primary homes for the stay-at-home order.
KOVR reported the health care system may become overwhelmed soon. They said the Truckee area has nine times more positive cases per capita than the rest of California.
KOVR says Truckee's Tahoe Forest hospital only has 25 beds with 44 at surge capacity.
As of this writing, we've received word of 34 positive cases of COVID-19 in Nevada County and one death.
