Nevada Highway Patrol (NHP) says Alternate 95 was closed in both directions near 9th Street in Silver Springs due to a five-car crash.
NHP says the crash occurred just after 2 p.m. on Wednesday.
Our crew on scene says one of the vehicles involved was a semi-truck.
Officials say the semi failed to stop for construction traffic and hit the other cars.
They said there were a total of nine people involved but only five were taken to the hospital.
95 Alternate was closed in both directions between the Silver Springs and Yerington exit, but it has since reopened.
5:45 PM UPDATE: All travel lanes are now open.
