Washoe County commissioners are set to fill a vacancy left when a Nevada Assemblyman took a spot on the Reno City Council.

Commissioners were expected to vote Tuesday to replace Democrat David Bobzien, who was appointed to the council earlier this month. He filled a vacancy left when councilmember Hillary Schieve was elected mayor.

Twelve people have applied to represent Assembly District 24 in Reno. They include Ross Armstrong, Andrew Diss, Margaret Flint, Heather Goulding, Michael Guss, Erik Holland, Amber Joiner, Glenn Miller, Stephanie Schoen, Brad Summerhill, Matthew Tuma and Anne Marie Vierra.

Commissioners will hold 10 minute interviews with each candidate.

It's the third Nevada Legislature vacancy filled by a county commission appointee in the past two months.

The Clark County Commission replaced two Republican lawmakers who took other jobs after the November election.
