The Washoe County School District administration building was vandalized sometime overnight with red paint.
Cleanup crews were called in to wash away the paint from the walls and sidewalk of the east 9th Ninth Street building in Reno.
The words "No Justice" was reportedly written on the walls of the building.
"Were gonna focus on the positive things of our school district. It’s unfortunate because we have to take resources out of our schools in order to clean it up. But its paint and it washes off and were moving forward."
Officials have not released any information on any possible suspects.
The vandalism appeared the same day as thousands of students headed back to classes within the district.
The School District said it has a limited number of staff members available to handle repairs for its buildings. Officials said unfortunately, on its first day of school, several staff members had to be rerouted from school sites to clear away the damage and clean the area.
Officials said school police are investigating.
