The Washoe County School District (WCSD) says rumors about an incident happening at North Valleys High School on Tuesday was unfounded.

In a call sent to parents, they said all safety protocols were followed and School Police investigated the rumors.

Officials with WCSD said classes will be held as usual this week.

Good evening, this is Desiree Mandeville, principal of North Valleys High School:

I want to keep you informed about some rumors that were circulating today regarding the possibility of an incident taking place on our campus. All safety protocols are being followed, and School Police investigated the rumors. After an investigation and interviews with numerous students, the rumor was found to be unsubstantiated.

I want you to know that all of us in the Washoe County School District take these rumors seriously, and that the safety and security of our students and staff are our highest priority. Classes will be held as usual this week as teaching and learning continue here at North Valleys High School.
