Apple is expected to unveil as many as three new iPhones at its annual event next week in California. Technology reporter Jamey Tucker gathers up some rumors circulating about the new iPhones – and has found a few that may be true.
Sometimes there’s a clue in the invitation of what to expect, but not this time.Â
So, where do you go to find clues? Since iPhones are manufactured in China, Tucker checked Alibaba.com, a site similar to Amazon where primarily Chinese companies sell things. He found hundreds of new phone cases for upcoming phones. The cases are made for three devices: a 5.8” iPhone, a 6.5” iPhone and a 6” iPhone, believed to be a budget iPhone.
Shortly after that announcement went out, 9to5Mac released a photo of two iPhones. The site claims it’s an actual photo of the new phones and not the work of an artist and that the new phones will be called the Xs, or 10s. The photos from 9to5Mac show a much larger screen since Apple is expected to get rid of the home button.Â
As for what else is different, you can bet that the phones will all be faster and have an improved camera.Â
Two new iPad Pros are also expected to be released. They’re expected to come with no home button and no headphone jack. Also, we’re expected to see a new Apple Watch series 4, with a larger display and better look.
The new iPhones are expected to cost more than $1,000 with the exception of a smaller phone with LCD screen that’s expected to cost around $800.
