The Nugget Casino Resort is partnering with St. Vincent’s Dining Room to provide more than 1,200 Christmas meals to those in need on Christmas Day, Friday, December 25, 2015 beginning at 11:30 a.m.
“I believe that everyone deserves a hearty, delicious meal on Christmas Day,” said Nugget President & CEO Carlton Geer. “Northern Nevadans support the Nugget all year long, and providing meals to those in need is just one of the ways we’re able to give back.”
The food served at St. Vincent’s Dining Room on Christmas Day is the same high-quality food that will be served to guests at the Christmas Buffet at the resort.
“So many people in our community depend on the Nugget’s Thanksgiving and Christmas meals at St. Vincent’s,” said Nugget Vice President of Food & Beverage Scott Kidd. “By providing the food and staff for a Christmas meal, we’re able to support those in the community who need it most.”
Every year since 1955, the Nugget has provided free Thanksgiving and Christmas meals to a local shelter, and has worked with Catholic Charities and St. Vincent’s Dining Room since 1961.
“The Nugget has been such a great partner to us all these years,” said Catholic Charities of Northern Nevada CEO Peter Vogel. “We are lucky to be surrounded by community members and business leaders who care so much about the people and families we serve.”
People in need of a Christmas meal are invited to St. Vincent’s Dining Room at 11:30 a.m. on Christmas Day. The dining room is located at 325 Valley Road in Reno.
St. Vincent’s Dining Room, as part of Catholic Charities of Northern Nevada, has welcomed the hungry with open arms for decades. The Dining Room serves hundreds of free meals each day to those in need, no questions asked.
The menu changes daily, but not the mission: to provide a simple but hearty meal to sustain the body and warm the soul. For more information, call 775-322-7073.
